Sour Cream Coffee Cake

1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ cup butter
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
1¾ cups flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
Topping:
¾ cups brown sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
2 tablespoons chopped nuts
Directions:
